Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 28, 2025
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Kimo (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with kimo.watch (the “Site”) and any related services (the “Service”).
Kimo is designed to minimise the amount of personal data we collect. We do not create user accounts and we do not ask for your real name, address, or payment details.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. What We Collect (Directly)
We do not have a signup system and we do not ask you to submit personal information to use Kimo.
The only data you actively provide is:
- Search queries you type into the search box (e.g., “John Wick”, “South Park”).
- Any emails you choose to send to our addresses (e.g., legal@kimo.watch, security@kimo.watch).
If you email us, we will receive whatever information you include (such as your email address, name, or any other details you choose to share).
3. Technical Data and Logs
Like most websites, some technical information is collected automatically when you visit Kimo. This typically includes:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Referrer URL (if any)
- Pages requested, and timestamps of requests
- Basic error logs
These logs are used for:
- Operating and securing the Service
- Preventing abuse (for example, blocking obvious attacks)
- Debugging problems and improving reliability
We do not use this log data to build personal profiles of you.
4. Local Storage and Cookies
Kimo may use browser local storage or similar client-side storage to remember:
- Your theme preference (e.g., taro, mint, stone)
- Your language selection
- Whether you enabled debug logging in the browser console (for your own testing)
This data is stored locally in your browser and is not used for advertising or sold to anyone.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, behavioural ad cookies, or similar tracking technologies.
5. Third-Party Services and APIs
Kimo relies on third-party services to function. These may include:
- Streaming availability APIs that provide information about where titles are available.
- Infrastructure providers such as hosting platforms, DNS/CDN providers, and error-logging services.
When you use Kimo, your requests may cause these third parties to process:
- Your IP address
- Basic browser/HTTP information
- Some details of your request (for example, the title you searched)
These third parties have their own privacy practices and terms. We do not control how they handle data once it is received by them.
6. Outbound Links to Streaming Providers
Kimo links to official provider websites and apps (for example: Tubi, Pluto TV, Roku Channel, Plex, Adult Swim, and others).
Once you click through:
- You are subject to the privacy policies and terms of those providers.
- They may set cookies, track activity, or ask you to create an account.
- We do not control their data collection or usage.
We do not receive the details of your account or activity within those third-party services.
7. Donations
Kimo may display cryptocurrency addresses or other donation methods.
- When donating via cryptocurrency, transactions occur on the relevant blockchain/network.
- We do not collect your financial details such as credit card numbers or bank account information.
- Blockchain transactions are generally public and can be viewed on the relevant explorer.
If you use any external wallet or payment provider, their privacy policy applies.
8. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Debug issues and monitor performance
- Protect the Service from spam, abuse, or attacks
- Respond to legitimate legal or security reports sent to our contact emails
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not run targeted advertising based on your searches.
9. Data Sharing
We may share limited information in the following situations:
- Service providers: infrastructure or hosting providers that help us keep Kimo online.
- Legal compliance: if required by applicable law, court order, or lawful request from authorities.
- Security: to investigate or prevent suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not share search history or log data with third parties for marketing purposes.
10. Data Retention
Server logs and related technical data are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for:
- Security and abuse prevention
- Debugging and reliability
- Compliance with any legal obligations
Emails you send to us (for example, legal complaints or security reports) may be kept longer as part of our records.
11. Children’s Privacy
Kimo does not target children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, you can contact legal@kimo.watch so we can review and, if appropriate, delete the information.
12. Your Choices
Because Kimo does not have accounts or trackers, your main choices are:
- You can choose not to use the Service.
- You can clear your browser storage (local storage, cookies) at any time.
- You can decide whether or not to email us and what information to include.
- You can choose not to click outbound links to third-party providers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
If you continue to use Kimo after changes take effect, you are agreeing to the updated Policy.
